If you’re going to be reading a lot of Usenet, you’ll run into a lot of these acronyms and expressions among others:

BTW: By the way
CU: See you
FDL: Falling down laughing
IMHO: In my humble opinion
LJBF: Let’s just be friends
LOL: Laughing out loud
MOTAS: Member of the appropriate sex
MOTOS: Member of the opposite sex
MOTSS: Member of the same sex
ROTFL: Rolling on the floor laughing
RTFM: Read the full manual (or something like that)
SO: Significant other
